20% renewable energy by 2020
Raising the share of renewable energy from 8.5% to 20% in the overall energy consumption is a necessary contribution to the global fight against climate change and towards better control over our energy dependence. The various uses of renewable energy are examined: electricity through wind and hydraulic energies; electricity or heat through geothermal and solar energies; electricity, heat, and biofuel coming from biomass. The EU is a world leader in the use and deployment of technologies that exploit renewable energy sources, providing over 350.000 jobs and an annual turn-over of € 30 billion. Robert Llewellyn provides insight on renewable energy in Germany. LIKE Fully Charged on Facebook @ fb.me Fully Charged Podcast on iTunes @ bit.ly Robert first speaks with government official Dr. Silke Karcher, who heads the division 'EU-Affairs and Bilateral Cooperation of Environment and Energy'. They discuss Germany's future plans for energy, which involves the abandoning of nuclear energy and move towards wind, gas & solar. He then goes down to Leipzig to see a Juwi Energy Park, where a tour is given around a huge solar power plant by Sylvia Hamm. This produces a significant amount of energy for the German grid. Juwi Energy Park @ www.energiepark-brandis.de ABOUT FULLY CHARGED: Fully Charged is an online show hosted by Robert Llewellyn (Red Dwarf, Scrapheap Challenge, Carpool), sponsored by British Gas: Looking After Your World. During this series, Robert will discuss why we need to change how we think about energy consumption now. He will be taking a look at the newest electric cars available on the market [Volvo, Ford, Peugeot, Renault & Nissan] and also different forms of renewable energy [Wind and Solar].

Renewable Energy in Iran
Most of the world's energy resources are being supplied by fossil fuels like coal, oil and natural gas. But the world's dependence on fossil fuels is no good for several reasons. One is the fact that coal, oil and gas will eventually run out. No one knows exactly when, but the US Department of Energy says we have roughly 104 years of fossil fuels left, and that's if global consumption stays the same, which it probably won't. It's been estimated that by the year 2020, world energy consumption will increase 50 percent. So it's a matter of decades before the world runs out of its main source of fuel. Another problem caused by burning up 350 quadrillion BTUs of fossil fuel a year, is the creation of a substantial amount of carbon dioxide, which is contributing to global warming and the subsequent melting of the ice-caps. And of course air pollution threatens human health and that of the planet. The solution to all this is to find energy sources that are clean or green, and preferably won't run out. Green fuel is something the whole world knows it will have to invest in sooner or later. Iran is one of the nations trying to reduce its dependence on fossil fuels. FirstEnergy STEM Grants; Exxon Buys Celtic Explor; Clinton on Energy Diplomacy- Energy Min 10/22/12
FirstEnergy has awarded new STEM grants—Science, Technology Engineering and Mathematics--to teachers in Ohio to be used for projects about energy. More than 1000 STEM grants have been given out by FirstEnergy to educators and youth group leaders since 1986. FirstEnergy offers a mix of scrubbed coal, non-emitting nuclear, natural gas, hydro, pumped-storage hydro, and other renewables in its 20000 megawatts of capacity. Exxon Mobil has acquired Celtic Exploration, a Canadian oil and gas company, for $3.1 billion in cash and stock. The purchase is part of the company's continued efforts to expand into the shales of western Canada. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has outlined a plan for "energy diplomacy" to be at the center of US foreign policy. The strategy details how the US can drive economic growth around the world, due to the huge increases in national oil and natural gas production. A dedicated energy bureau was created inside the State Department last year. For more information on these and other stories, go to www.csrminute.com. Renewable Energy and the Energy Transition
The world is driven by fossil fuels like oil and gas. This has some negative repercussions: Rising energy prices due to decreasing deposits, dependence on unstable oil and gas producing regimes and global warming. It becomes clear, that a revolution in the way how we produce and use energy is necessary. Central to this energy transition are new technologies, which produce energy from renewable sources such as wind or sun. With Germany as an example, this clip shows what renewable energies are and how they work as well as what the concept of energy transition means. The clip is part of the WissensWerte Project of the german non-profit organization /e-politik.de/ eV By Jörn Barkemeyer and Jan Künzl Editorial Laura Hörath For more information about the WissensWerte project, please visit: www.edeos.org If you would like to stay in touch for further animated videos, like us on Facebook: www.facebook.com

LOV, the new autumn-winter 2011-2012 film directed by Stephanie Di Giusto.
After Lou Doillon, there is the appearance of a another heroine: Kate Bosworth. Her mysteriousness, her strength. Also another side to femininity, a stirring truthfulness which is renewed with every look, every movement accompanied by a wisp of assertiveness and purity. A new gracefulness progressing to a confident allure, conquering, a battling frailty.
It starts with an urban universe almost futuristic where this femininity comes up against angles, up against emptiness where lines are sought for and where poetry is found. A surrealistic dance, frantic and lively giving a light note to this ballad, this adventure which is perhaps the landscape of a soul.
Then the thread of the tale gets tenser. We come across a more solemn Kate, looking inwards, a mysterious warrior. Kate runs away, frightened by her dark double, perhaps her mirror reflection, perhaps her sister in dreams. White horses bolt with the music, liberating her wildness and the impatient purity of her energy, of her victory.
Euphoria of flight, of a grace released from the surface, from reality. Light headed. Kate is at the top of a tree of life giving herself up to an appeasing sun, to a sensual rapture winging towards the heart of the matter, streaming along, a reflection on the water.
In fact, a love story.

The Windmill Farmer
A nurturing farmer in is danger of losing his crop of windmills when he struggles against the cyclical forces of nature.
Created at the UCLA Animation Workshop, with music by Nick Fevola.
This film was inspired while driving back from a trip to Palm Springs, when a friend said that it must take them forever to plant and grow so many windmills. I wrote down the title The Windmill Farmer for an idea to explore later, and about a year later I started developing it into a character and story.
This film took 4 months to complete from the first boards until the final mix.
